THE FIRST ENGLISH LESSON

Once. there was a foolish man.He lived in a far away village. He wanted to learn English. But, he did not know how to read or write all. So, one day, he came to the city to see a teacher. He said him that he wanted to learn English. Then, the teacher agreed and began the first lesson. He wrote letters A, B, C, D and E on the blackboard with a piece of chalk. He pointed to letter A and said, "This is an A"
"How do we know that this is an A ?" asked the man.

"It is an A", said the teacher.

"I don't admit that. How can we be sure whether this is an A or something else ?", the man said.

The teacher got angry and at once at pulled an ear of the man and twisted it.

"Ooh, my ear !" cried the man.

"Your ear ! How do you know that this is your ear ?" asked the teacher.

"Everyone knows that this is the ear." tha man said.

"Quite right, everyone knows that this is an A." said the teacher.

Then, at last, the man admitted that it was an "A" and he began to learn English.
